DAAD University Visit: Free State - Eastern Cape
At the Central University of Technology, the team conducted information sessions at Welkom and Bloemfontein campuses, engaging with students and staff about the various funding opportunities DAAD offers to help them realise their goals in Germany or South Africa. Conversations and interactions extended beyond formal presentations, allowing us to explore potential collaborations and understand the university’s international mobility goals.
On the 16th, the team had the opportunity to join the Study Abroad Fair at The University of the Free State, a key event that brought together international partners including DAAD, Fulbright, SANORD, Campus France, and the Department of Higher Education and Training. Held at the UFS Bloemfontein Campus, the fair attracted significant student and staff interest in global educational pathways.
The DAAD team concluded their tour on 18 October at Nelson Mandela University, engaging with students and the International Office to promote opportunities for study and research in Germany. The visit also highlighted the university’s existing partnerships with German institutions, paving the way for discussions on enhancing collaborations and exploring future initiatives.
This university tour emphasised the value of international academic partnerships and initiatives aimed at inspiring students and researchers to pursue opportunities that will enhance their academic journeys. The DAAD South Africa looks forward to continuing these conversations and opening new doors for students and researchers in Southern Africa.
